HOW DO you fancy an evening out, with good food, scintillating conversation and Dr. Scott Miller, our resident vet? If you do, then you’re in luck. The Resident has organised an evening with the Australian vet at the Fatacil Restaurant in Lagoa on Friday, June 30, starting at 7.30pm for 8pm.
Dr. Scott has done various charity work in a number of different countries and, on June 30, he will be giving a talk about two of his most memorable destinations – Pakistan and Thailand. In addition, Scott will also be addressing the ever-increasing problem of the state of animal welfare here in Portugal, and, of course, there will be the opportunity for you to put your pet related questions to him.
As well as writing his fortnightly column for The Resident, Dr. Scott is also the resident vet for ITV’s This Morning programme, he writes for Women’s Own magazine, is currently organising his own show for the Animal Planet station and, when he returns to the UK from his trip to Portugal, he hopes to be involved in Sharon Osbourne’s new talk-show, “but nothing’s been agreed on yet,” Dr. Scott told The Resident. “But I’ve got my fingers crossed!”
At the evening with Dr. Scott Miller, there will be a three-course meal with wine and coffee, a mystery door prize, a salsa demonstration, raffle, live music and all in aid of Associação de Protecção dos Animais do Algarve (APAA), the Algarve’s animal protection society.
Tickets cost 15 euros (including three-course dinner and wine/beer/water) and are available from The Resident office in Lagoa; Porches Pottery; APAA in Portimão and PDM Travel in Lagos. Doors open at 7.30pm and Dr Scott will begin his talk at 8pm. See you there! For more details, call The Resident on 282 342 936.
