An evening of Samuel Beckett with Jim Barnard

Dancer and puppeteer Jim Barnard will give the first in a series of Armchair Talks at the Bela Romão Croquet Club (Bias do Norte, Moncarapacho) on Saturday, October 18 at 7pm.
Jim is a great fan of Theatre of the Absurd of which Samuel Beckett was a leading figure. Beckett was an Irish novelist, playwright, theatre director and poet, and has been described as one of the last modernists. In 1969, Beckett was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Among his most famous works are Waiting for Godot, Endgame and Malone Dies.
Jim trained as a dancer and graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School in 1993. In 2012, he became fascinated with the Theatre of the Absurd and became involved in a project with the Estonian State Puppet Theatre.
He has become a puppeteer and performed Absolutely Anything, a short solo for Klub X in Amsterdam. Guests are invited to have a welcome drink and sit back and listen before dinner. The cost for the dinner and Armchair Talk is €25.
