A summer party with an Arabian theme held in the house and garden of David and Linda Grindley in Vilamoura raised almost €5,000 for the Algarve Oncology Association.
The evening included fortune telling, belly dancing and Middle Eastern food, wine and fun.
The entertainment was provided by the Angels Theatre Group and their Revue included cameo roles from a camel, snakes and a storyteller. Wonderful humour complemented the songs and sketches that made up the show.
Janet Shook enchanted all by her enthusiastic belly dancing and queues formed outside the three Fortune Tellers’ tents.
The Middle Eastern buffet was prepared by Suzy Lane and her team, whilst Linda Grindley supplemented the menu with her homemade Turkish Delight.
Many of those attending came in costume, ready for a great evening to support the Algarve Oncology Unit in Faro. This project will provide accommodation for patients (and their families) while they are undergoing treatment.
