Easter was celebrated in Guia, Albufeira, with the presentation of a giant folar, a traditional Portuguese Easter cake. Hundreds of local residents were given a slice of the colossal cake that weighed a total of 180kg and measured more than two metres in diameter. A staggering total of 600 eggs, 85kg of flour, 50kg of sugar and 44 litres of milk were used to make the gigantic folar. The cake-cutting ceremony was presided over by the President of Albufeira Câmara, Desidério Silva, and music was provided by folklore troupe, Rancho Folclórico de Albufeira.
