SC Olhanense full-back Stanley Amuzie made his debut for Nigeria in their 1-1 draw with Egypt last week.
The African Cup of Nations group game was watched by 40,000 fans with Egypt grabbing a late equaliser in the last minute of normal time. The 20-year-old, on loan from Italian club Sampdoria, only made his debut for Olhanense in mid February after being sidelined for six months through injury.
Amuzie has featured in seven games, six of them as sub, for the Olhão team and played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at Mafra. He is keen to challenge for a place in the Nigeria squad that will travel to Argentina for this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio.
