This month, “exuberant” French pianist Hélène Tysman will again visit the Algarve to perform two concerts for the Amigos de Música at Os Agostos, an impressive 18th century country estate located above Santa Bárbara de Néxe.
The concerts will take place on Tuesday, November 7, and Thursday, November 9, in the Auditorium of Os Agostos.
On Tuesday, Hélène Tysman presents a whole evening of Chopin, while on Thursday, she interprets works by Bach, Chopin, Debussy and Ravel.
Born in Paris, Hélène Tysman started playing piano at the age of four. A graduate of the Paris Conservatory (CNSM), she went to Germany and Austria at the age of 20 to perfect her skills with Grigory Gruzman as her main mentor. She has travelled the world from North America to Japan, Brazil, China, the Middle East, Russia and all of Europe. She has played for the Princess of Thailand as well as for Olympic champions.
In 2010, she was a finalist at the prestigious Warsaw International Chopin Competition and won first prize at the Darmstadt Chopin Competition as well as numerous other awards in England, Germany, China and the United States.
Attracted by other artistic horizons, she collaborates in literary concerts with actors such as Francis Huster, Jacques Gamblin, Michel Robin and Dominique Pinon and regularly associates with reciters during concert-readings.
Regularly invited by radio and television, Hélène has recorded several solo and chamber music releases (Chopin, Ravel, Schumann, Bach…), all praised by the press.
She plays with orchestras from all over the world and has performed on the greatest stages such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Salle Gaveau and Philharmonic Hall in Paris, City Hall Theater in Shanghai, Cairo Opera or the Neue Halle in Weimar.
Amigos de Música concerts at Os Agostos begin at 7pm. Doors open at 6pm and wine, fruit juices and canapés will be served. There will also be a short interval.
