Portugal’s new law which makes employers liable to penalties if they contact workers outside of working hours has been receiving widespread international coverage, having even been spotlighted in the American television show ‘Daily Show’.
Host Trevor Noah poked fun at the differences between “labour victories” in Portugal and the USA. “In America, a major labour victory is like – ‘Now Amazon workers get a choice of plastic or glass bottles to pee in’,” said Noah.
