Americans delight in the plummeting euro

With the value of the euro falling progressively, Portugal’s tourism sector looks certain to reap the benefits. In the US – where the dollar is buying 21% more than it was a year ago – the Washington Post has been extolling the virtues of travel in a eurozone in deflation. It claims there are all kinds of bargains to be had. Meantime, TripAdvisor writes that hotel prices in Portugal are down 5.8%.
