A 38-year-old American woman was rescued after “falling while rock climbing with a group of friends” between Praia do Beliche and Cabo de São Vicente (Saint Vincent Cape) in Vila do Bispo on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities were alerted at around 4pm, having dispatched teams from Sagres lifeboat station and Lagos maritime police to the scene.
The woman had to be rescued by boat from a “hard-to-reach” area and was taken to Baleeira port, where an INEM ambulance was waiting to take her to hospital.
