American national daily praises Lisbon

THE NEW YORK Times has praised Lisbon in an article about the commercial and social lives in two of the city’s most charismatic and atmospheric districts. In its article, ‘In two lively districts in Lisbon, every night is a block party’, travel writer Pavia Rosati describes the Baixa Chiado and Bairro Alto areas. “You cannot imagine just how cool this city is,” begins the article, which is aimed at potential US tourists. The writer paints a colourful and faithful portrait of several of the city’s historic streets, including Nova de Almada, Garrett, Misericórdia and Largo Luís de Camões as well as the hotels, bars and restaurants that would be of interest to tourists.
