The Council Rock High School North Choir from Newtown, Pennsylvania will be the guest of honour at Albufeira’s fourth Encontro de Coros (Choir Meeting) which will be held at the town’s main church on Wednesday, February 13 at 9.30pm.
The American choir comprises between 60 and 70 talented singers, aged 14 to 18, who are led by directors Ryan Carlin and Mark Dolan. Their repertoire includes a variety of classical and spiritual music.
Also performing will be Vox Albuhera, the choir from Albufeira’s Conservatory which every year organises this event. The choir is led by maestro Paulo Sopa and is made up of “enthusiastic and dedicated singers” who promise to take audiences on a journey through the history of choral music.
Admission is free.
