Amendoeira Lawn Bowls Club has become the latest Algarve club to join the Bowls Portugal Federation.
The club, which boasts a flat and crown green, holds regular weekly competitions from a base near Silves and will now be joining the other Bowls Portugal clubs, strengthening the federation in the process.
Amendoeira have become the fifth club to join Bowls Portugal and is now linked up with Vila da Luz, Valverde at Almancil, Vilamoura and Isla Canela in western Spain.
The Amendoeira members will be able to enter the Bowls Portugal Premier League and compete in individual championship competitions which lead to the best man and woman player in Portugal qualifying for the World Bowls Champion of Champions competition, representing Portugal in the sport.
Individuals who are not part of a bowls club can also join Bowls Portugal for a yearly fee of €5.
