Amendoeira crown  green bowling

March 4 was the final chance for crown bowls players at the Amendoeira Bowls Club to enter in competition before the Iberian Crown Green Cup, which is taking place all this week at the club between March 8 and 12.

Mick Collins took on Barry Walton in the first semi final beating Barry 11-5, while Peter Cain beat Peter Moss 11-8 in the other semi final.

Then it was Mick Collins, who normally plays at the Brookhill Bowling Club in Birmingham, who denied Peter Cain a hat-trick of wins, beating him 11-7.

The weekly competition on the crown green at Amendoeira Bowls Club will recommence on March 15 after this week’s Iberian Crown Green Cup tournament while the weekly Thursday competition will start again on March 25.

The competitions are open to everyone with entry costing five euros per person.
