Extended round robin group stages led to a prolonged day of crown green bowling at the Amendoeira Bowls Club on February 1, with John Greenwood and David Moore eventually finishing as the winners.
John Greenwood and David Moore found themselves 14-6 down in the semi finals against Kevin Rowley and Margaret Morris but came back to take their place in the final winning by 15-14.
The pair made sure they were not playing catch up in the final against Derek King and Bob Geary and won by 15-5.
A flat green competition is also held at the club on Fridays with entry costing five euros per person and begins at 10.30am.
The crown green competition also costs five euros and begins at 10am every Monday.
Beginners are welcome and free lessons are available for those who are interested in taking up the sport.
