MORE AMBULANCES will be serving the Algarve region as part of an initiative to increase and improve pre-hospital services by the national institute of medical emergencies (INEM).
Two new ambulances are in operation already, one in the Silves area and the other in Portimão.The ambulances work 16 hours a day but this is set to increase to a 24-hour a day service before the end of the year.
There are also set to be two more ambulances serving the region by the end of February, one in Vila Real de Santo António and the other in Loulé.
