Ambulance crash

AN accident involving an ambulance from Portugal’s emergency service, INEM, is being investigated by the GNR.

The emergency vehicle was responding to another accident when it appears it went into a skid, with the driver losing control of the wheel.

The driver, an employee of the Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica (INEM), says he wasn’t driving at more than 60 kp. Alcohol tests taken at the scene indicate that he hadn’t been drinking. No other cars were involved in the accident.

The accident happened on the Béltico road near Peniche.
