BRIGHT SUNSHINE blessed the annual British Embassy Garden Party, which took place last week at Ambassador John Buck’s (picured) temporary residence. The event, which celebrates Her Majesty the Queen’s Official Birthday, attracted the cream of the diplomatic and business community in Lisbon, with around 300 guests attending. Both the Queen and the President of Portugal were toasted, and the band struck up the national anthems of both countries. The guests, who mingled until 9.30pm, were served sandwiches, cocktails and canapés including a fine selection of English cheeses. C.G.
