Dear Editor,
I am writing to you regarding the unbelievable coincidence that I have learned about tonight.
On August 31 2007 we travelled to Portugal for a week’s holiday in my friend’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
Ever since I was a child I have wanted to swim with dolphins and when we decided to stay in my friend’s apartment she told us about Zoomarine and after saving hard I booked a dolphin experience at the park for Thursday September 6 (the day before we were due to come home).
I was really looking forward to the holiday and couldn’t wait for the day of my swim with the dolphins. I am totally mad on animals and have several at home which included two dogs.
One of them was a tiny Yorkshire terrier and of all the dogs I have had he was the one that I totally bonded with and I loved him to bits.
I had a lovely day at Zoomarine and the dolphins were everything I thought they would be. We travelled home on Friday September 7 and I was looking forward to seeing my dogs.
Unfortunately, when we got home I was told that my little dog had died the previous day at about 1pm (the very same time I was swimming with the dolphins).
I was absolutely devastated and still am 16 months later. His name was ‘SPARKY’!!
Can you imagine my face when I read your article about the new baby dolphin at Zoomarine who has recently been called ‘Sparky’ aswell. I thought you would like to hear this story.
