Alvor’s Delfim Pestana to reopen as new all-inclusive hotel

Pestana Blue Alvor Beach is located just a few steps away from Alvor beach

Alvor’s iconic Pestana Delfim will reopen as a new and renovated all-inclusive hotel named Pestana Blue Alvor Beach this spring.

Offering direct access to the nearby Alvor beach, the new hotel is currently under renovation and is slated to open in May.

With “renovated rooms, including incredible sea views, new restaurants, and new common areas,” the new hotel is promising an “experience that will create memorable moments for the entire family,” the Pestana group says in a statement to the press.

Pestana Blue Alvor Beach will feature three outdoor pools – one exclusively for children, another for adults only, and a third for the entire family. It will also offer a daily entertainment programme for both adults and children, as well as a Kids Club for children aged four to 12.

The hotel will also boast three restaurants – a buffet and two themed restaurants – as well as two bars.

Sports enthusiasts will have access to a paddle court, a multipurpose court, and a gym, while those who prefer walking, running, or cycling will be just a stone’s throw away from the Alvor boardwalks, described as “the largest in the Algarve, stretching over 6 km – from Três Irmãos Beach to Ria de Alvor – crossing landscapes of undeniable beauty” and providing opportunities for birdwatchers to “observe several bird species.”

Pestana also highlights how guests will have access nearby to all kinds of water sports, diving and snorkeling, as well as skydiving at the Portimão aerodrome in Montes de Alvor.

The hotel group currently has 17 hotels and ‘Pousadas’ in the Algarve, a region where it has been operating for over three decades.

“After the Madeira region, where the group was founded in 1972, the group’s expansion into the Algarve in the early 90s was a significant milestone in its strategy,” Pestana says, adding that this expansion allowed the group to “diversify” its business and “contribute to the tourist and economic development of the Algarve, a region that plays a fundamental role in the success of the Pestana Hotel Group” and which is the area in Portugal with the highest number of Pestana hotels.
