The premier international classic car event returns with rallies across the region between July 14 and 16.
The Altice – Algarve Classic Cars, a premier international event for classic cars, hits the region’s roads this week for the 30th time. The 2023 edition of this historic rally, based in Vilamoura, will include visits to Albufeira, Loulé, Silves, Tavira and S. Brás de Alportel on July 14, 15 and 16.
Organised by Portugal Classic and the Clube Português de Automóveis Antigos, the event has become one of the top international classic car events.
According to the President of the Organising Committee, Luís Brito, “This year is a very special year for the Altice – Algarve Classic Cars; we celebrate 30 years, an important milestone in motorsport in Portugal, which fills us with pride”.
Brito says he is “grateful for the trust of thousands of participants, for the commitment and confidence of our sponsors, but mainly for the persistence and work carried out by all the employees, who year after year, for 30 years, have contributed and continue to contribute to the evolution and recognition of a unique event, for its quality and longevity.”
The Altice Algarve Classic Cars will start at Vilamoura Marina at 11:00 on July 14, with the opening of its reception. The departure of the first Murganheira leg, on the Casino de Vilamoura circuit, starts at 19:00 and ends at around 20:00.
On Saturday 15, the Altice Algarve Classic Cars departs from Vilamoura Marina at 09:00 for the Altice leg. The mythical Cerro de S. Miguel Special Race takes place at 10:30, followed by a neutralisation phase in Tavira at around 11:30. Arrival in Pedras del Rei is scheduled for 13:00.
On the same day, at 15:30, the Viborel stage starts in Pedras del Rei, followed by a new route through Cerro de S. Miguel at 16:00 and arrival in S. Brás de Alportel at 16:30. The Faro Porsche Centre leg starts its round trip at 17:30, returning at 18:00.
On the last day, Sunday 16, the historic rally departs from Vilamoura Marina for the Conrad Algarve leg, scheduled for 09:00, with a neutralisation phase in Albufeira at 10:00.
On this day, preceded by a neutralisation phase at Vila Vita Parc from 11:00, the historic Opticalia circuit in Armação de Pêra is scheduled to depart at 11:30 and arrive at the Conrad Algarve at 12:30.
The awards ceremony will take place at 16:00 at the Conrad Algarve.
This year’s edition of the Altice – Algarve Classic Cars aims to promote the classic cars culture and historical heritage, with the support of several entities, including the main sponsor Altice, and the others: Porsche Centro Porsche Faro, Murganheira, Conrad Algarve, Casinos Solverde, Viborel amand more.
