AFPOP, the association for foreign residents in Portugal, recently held its own version of an ‘Antiques Road Show’. Organised by Pat Allen, the area representative for Lagos, and Pat Roberts, Vice President of AFPOP, the event attracted over 50 members.
Liz Allport-Lomax, an antiques dealer for over 30 years in the UK, entertained the audience as she examined, dated and valued items brought along by AFPOP members. While nothing from the Ming Dynasty was discovered, the event, held at Grilluz Restaurant in Luz, was hailed as a great initiative.
Members were asked to make a small donation for each item valued and 150 euros was raised which will be donated to the bombeiros.
