Staycations are the order of the day in Portugal with almost half the people quizzed in a recent survey confirming they will be spending their holidays on national territory. Says Europ Assistance’s ‘annual summer holiday barometer’, those that are planning to venture further abroad are choosing Spain (18%), France (9%) and Italy (5%). Only 26% of the country has actually made reservations this year which is ‘in line with the majority of other countries’, bearing in mind the uncertainties caused by the pandemic.
