A 40-year-old man believed to be “one of Lisbon’s main drug suppliers” was arrested on August 5 by PJ criminal police.
According to an official statement, the man was detained following a six-month investigation.
Police have confiscated over “10 kilos of heroin” – 60 to 70% of which was “highly pure” and could still be thinned out to stretch to 30 kilos.
According to police estimates, the drugs would be worth between “€750,000 – €1 million” on the open market.
Detectives also confiscated €11,250 in cash, mobile phones and a variety of drug-dealing equipment.
The Portuguese man is due to be heard at Lisbon’s Criminal Court.
