THE FIRST English-speaking Rotary Club in Portugal will be officially founded on June 17, in a ceremony beginning at 7.30pm at the Ria Park Hotel, in Vale do Garrão.
The International Rotary Club of Almancil will not be an English club, but aspires to attract international members where the common language is English. They will meet weekly for lunch at the Couleur France Restaurant in Almancil, from 1pm to 3pm. As well as good food, there will be regular guest speakers discussing interesting subject matters. The president of the new club, Leif B. Axelsson, hopes to welcome members of different nationalities, who can share their varied experiences.
