Almancil artist Adérita Silva leads Saturday workshops at Vale do Lobo

A series of workshops led by Almancil artist Adérita Silva are taking place every Saturday until February 8 at Vale do Lobo’s new Artistic Space, located at the resort’s shopping centre.

“In order to celebrate the artistic talent and work produced by our many local artists, a new creative space – a lounge built for sharing and learning – has been conceived by the charismatic Adérita Silva,” the resort says.

“This local artist has had a successful, international career based on a passion for the arts, the same passion that led her to create abstract paintings that reflect her talent, her emotions and her constant pursuit of elegance,” it adds.

Adérita’s first workshop was held last weekend and focused on the art of colouring mandalas, while the next is scheduled for this Saturday (January 25), starting at 11am, and will teach participants several different drawing techniques while also attempting to “develop their creative side”.

On February 1, Adérita Silva will be providing “doodle tips”, while a week later (February 8) the theme of the workshop will be “botanic art: creating a terrarium”.

Each workshop costs €16, with discounts available for resort members. Anyone can sign up on the event section of the resort’s website: https://www.valedolobo.com/pt/eventos/

Adérita Silva was born in 1958 in Almancil. She was very young when her family moved to Paris, where she lived and studied for over 30 years.

It was in Paris that Adérita began showing her artistic leanings, where she worked in marketing, style and the development of the arts. Her passion for painting has led her to “a new world full of new sensations and emotions”, she says on her website.

Adérita uses abstract art to express her impressions and feelings on canvas in a search for aesthetics and elegance.

She also carries out different cultural workshops and classes which appeal to the creative sense of all generations and is a founding member of PAS – Peace and Art Society (International Association of Artists).
