Just when you thought the football was over, Portuguese Captain Luís Figo has announced that his charity project AllStars’04 is due to take place this Monday (July 12) at 7.45pm in the Algarve stadium. The project will bring together some of the biggest names in international football, to raise money for the Luís Figo Foundation (LFF) and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation (LSGF).
Stars including Michael Ballack, the German international and FC Bayern Munchen player, Portuguese referee Lucílio Baptista and F1 champion Michael Schumacher have confirmed their presence at the event. Peter Schmeichel, Frank de Boer and Ronaldo are also rumoured to be playing in the event, but are yet to confirm.
Last year’s AllStars tournament took place in Porto’s Bessa stadium and featured some of the world’s best football players. Among them was Zidane, Ronaldo and Van Nistelrooy. The event raised thousands of euros, all of which went to the LFF and UNICEF charities.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale, priced between 16 and 31 euros. They are available at all Fnac outlets, Faro Câmara info centre in the Jardim Manuel Bívar, in Modelo and Continente supermarkets in Albufeira, Guia, Loulé and Portimão and at the Algarve Stadium.
