Two members of the Portuguese Parliament have proposed that a substitute programme promoting the Algarve as an all year round travel destination should be created in place of Allgarve.
Cristóvão Norte and Elsa Cordeiro believe that the Allgarve programme has been a drain on public money, presenting results largely below expectations.
If it is killed off, as expected, any replacement initiative should focus on “seasonality and reinforcing the external promotion component”, they say.
