While Kate and William tie the knot in London on April 29, the royal wedding will also be celebrated in style in the Algarve with Petchy Leisure preparing a day of special festivities to commemorate the occasion at Clube Praia da Oura near Albufeira.
Organisers have planned a Wedding Garden Party in the gardens of Clube Praia da Oura (CPO) with a varied programme of entertainment and fun to make sure the day is a memorable tribute to the Royal couple.
After the garden party in the afternoon, a Wedding Dinner with a very British theme will be held in the evening for guests to enjoy good food, wine and company.
The resort management recognise the importance of British Royalty across the spectrum of society at home and abroad and guests will be encouraged to enjoy expressing the celebration of the unique British culture on this important day in history. Resort Director Ana Maria Rosa said: “We pride ourselves in our beautiful gardens here and have long wanted to host a garden party.”
She added: “We feel that this is the perfect moment to develop this concept and expect the day to be another milestone in developing CPO as the prime location for Anglo-Portuguese relations to continue to grow and flourish, as it has over the past 25 years.”
Throughout the years, there have been celebrations of many important events, where the British people have shown a special pride and respect for royal occasions and it is hoped that the celebrations in the Algarve will prove to be as memorable as others taking place in the UK.
Local dignitaries will be invited to join with guests and expats living in the Algarve during the event to show support for Britain’s future King and his new wife while the organisers hope to encourage Portuguese citizens to also become involved in the day.
