All eyes on Algarve’s Portugal Masters

The countdown to the Portugal Masters 2014 at the Oceanico Victoria course in Vilamoura has well and truly begun. Of course, there is the small matter of a Ryder Cup at Gleneagles before then but in the Algarve attention is also focussed on this year’s Masters from October 9 until October 12.
Recognised as one of the most important events on the European tour, the competition promises to be as exciting as last year when England’s David Lynn snatched a dramatic victory with a sensational final round of 63.
With extensive television coverage on Sky Sports again beaming the live action to a worldwide audience, the Masters is a firm favourite on the tour for both players and fans.
Local Algarve residents also contribute to the event and a dedicated army of volunteer marshals and scorers will again provide invaluable back-up for the European Tour officials who work tirelessly over the entire year to make the Portugal Masters and other tour events so successful.
Appropriately, as an official media partner of the Portugal Masters 2014, Open Media Group, publishers of the Resident, officially launches the brand new golf magazine, Clubhouse Algarve, at this year’s event.
The magazine’s editor, Tom Callan, is confident that the magazine, in both English and Portuguese, will make a significant contribution to golf in the Algarve and is delighted that the launch will take place at the showcase event. “It is fitting that Clubhouse Algarve is to be launched at the Portugal Masters, a truly prestigious event that Portugal is justifiably very proud of.”
With a guaranteed prize fund of over €2,000,000, this year’s event has again attracted a superb international field. World class golfers competing over four days on the magnificent Victoria course ensures that this year’s Portugal Masters will once more be a very successful and highly memorable golfing occasion.
