Dogs and their owners from across the region are invited to take part in the Algarve Dog Show organised by Paws 4 Pets.
Both mixed breeds and pedigrees are able to take part in the two-day event tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday at the Fatacil showground in Lagoa alongside the International Algarve Fair between 11am and 7pm.
Classes, including best recall, dog and owner lookalike and doggy with the best eyes, will begin from 11.20am while a vet will be on hand to check all vaccine books of dogs attending the show.
There will also be mini shows featuring Portuguese Water Dogs and another for Serra da Estrela dogs, as well as an agility ring.
Entry to classes costs €2 with a free class offered after entry into four classes and money raised will be donated to the Portimão based animal charity, ADAP.
Meanwhile, eight dogs from the municipal kennels in Portimão will be available to view and potentially adopt, including a Golden Retriever and a Border Collie.
The municipal kennel is constantly looking for new homes for rescued animals as well as volunteers to help to walk the dogs.
