Results || Students and teachers at Aljezur International School were delighted when the University of Cambridge released the results for this year’s international exams. Students of the school entered IGCSE, AS and A levels and achieved a 100% pass rate, with 82% achieving between A* and C grades and 23% obtaining A* or A.
The school has said that the results are “especially outstanding considering several students entered IGCSEs earlier than is usual for their age”, as its philosophy is “stage not age”. Thus if students are considered ready to be entered for international exams, then they do so.
Special mention must be made of Georges Favot who, aged 14, achieved two A* IGCSEs, and 15-year-old twins Max and Conor McRobb who both achieved A* grades in their IGCSE Portuguese exams.
Aljezur International is an open examination centre and external students from the Algarve and surrounding area frequently enter Cambridge exams at the school.
Entries are still being accepted for the October series, with the deadline being September 14.
More IGCSE subjects will be available in the coming academic year, including Agriculture and Psychology, as well as optional extra-curricular survival training for the more daring.
