A formal complaint concerning the Aljezur GNR station, made to the câmara of Aljezur, details the appalling conditions in which officers are expected to work.
The Association of Professional Guards submitted the complaint to the local authority, after they voted Aljezur GNR station the worst in the country.
In their report, the association brings attention to the station’s unacceptable conditions.
The premises has no inside toilet facilities, its vehicles have no current insurance and the state of the old infrastructure allows rain to seep into the office.
Detainees’ cells have been closed due to conditions unsuitable for human habitation and officers stationed at the post are forced to sleep at a nearby school.
