The Algarve’s struggling restaurant sector is not recovering with anything like the speed it requires. Today in Quarteira Daniel Serra, president of restaurant association Pro.Var is presenting the results of an inquiry that illustrates clearly how close to insolvency so many businesses are. “The sector is in crisis in all touristic areas, particularly so in the Algarve”, he explains. The objective of today’s initiative is to push the government to reinforce ‘emergency measures’ to avoid a new wave of dismissals and bankruptcies.
