Patients in the Algarve who need orthopaedic care can now be treated in Lisbon and Setúbal.
The announcement was made yesterday (March 29) after a cooperation protocol was signed by new Algarve hospital boss Joaquim Ramalho and his colleagues in Lisbon and Setúbal.
It is one of the first measures to be announced after Health Minister Adalberto Fernandes vowed that the “unacceptable difficulties” facing the Algarve’s state-funded health services would be resolved by May 31.
