Algarve’s monuments registered 5.1% increase in number of visitors

The Algarve’s monuments registered a 5.1% increase in their number of visitors in 2014 compared to the previous year.

According to the regional culture board (DRCA), around 316,500 people visited the four monuments managed by the board – the Sagres Fortress, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, the Megalithic Monuments of Alcalar and the Roman ruins of Milreu.

Further data shows that around 70% of the visitors were foreigners.
