The Algarve’s very own Calendar Girls, who are a group of golfing friends, have begun shooting the photographs needed for the charity fund-raiser.
The women, who have been disrobing on the Alamos Golf Course, are creating the calendar to help raise funds for the Captain James Philippson Trust Fund.
The fund was set up by friends and family of James, who was the first soldier to lose his life during the war in Afghanistan in 2006.
As reported in the July 16 edition of the Algarve Resident, the idea for the calendar came to Lynn Cook, friend of James’ mother Trish Quinlan.
Lynn Cook told the Algarve Resident: “For the first couple of shots we were very tentative and dressing gowns were firmly in place right up to the moment the photo was taken. “However, it didn’t take long for everyone to feel completely at ease and we were soon walking around naked as if it was the most natural thing!”
The group of friends still has another photo shoot to complete for the December section, which will feature many more naked women with strategically placed Christmas decorations out on the golf course.
