Algarve’s February hotel bookings show devastating impact of pandemic

Hotel bookings in the Algarve fell a whopping 93.7% in February compared to the same month last year, the region’s hoteliers association (AHETA) has revealed.

Only 2.9% of available hotel rooms were booked, the lowest percentage for February by far since records began – proving just how devastating the pandemic has been for the sector.

Says AHETA, there were huge dips in the number of British (-98%), German (-97.2%) and Dutch (-94.9%) as well as Portuguese (-71.6%) guests.
