Vowing that it has “not given up” on this summer, the Algarve tourism board (RTA) has launched a new promotional video that aims to woo foreign tourists into booking a “last-minute” holiday in the region this August, September or October.
The 57-second video is narrated in English and showcases everything from the Algarve’s traditional cuisine to its world-famous beaches, outdoor activities and vibrant wildlife.
Algarve tourism chief João Fernandes explains that the video emphasises how the region offers a wide range of outdoor activities that allow tourists to respect social distancing guidelines and be in contact with nature.
“We are also focused on recovering the emotional connection that the region has with its main markets, which is why we continue insisting on a message of safety, well-being and confidence in a destination that they are already familiar with and where they know they will be welcomed genuinely and warmly,” he said.
The new campaign also aims to diversify the region’s traditional markets and will be promoted in stages in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and USA.
