Algarve wins ten ‘Cinco Estrelas Regiões’ awards

The Algarve has brought home 10 awards from the ‘Cinco Estrelas Regiões’ competition.

The initiative attributes a five-star status to beaches, monuments, private companies, culinary delicacies and even natural heritage based on the votes of around 205,000 people.

In the Algarve, Monchique was awarded in the category of “Mountains” while the Odeleite dam was selected in the category of “Reserves, Landscapes, Dams” and Portimão’s Praia da Rocha was voted one of the top “Beaches”.

Silves Castle is among the “National Monuments” that received a five-star stamp while the region’s mouthwatering Dom Rodrigo sweet was distinguished as “Traditional Cuisine”.

Elsewhere in the Algarve, Memmo Baleeira de Sagres (Surf Hotel), Restaurante Alquimia at EPIC Sana Albufeira (Mediterranean Restaurant), Parque Aventura (Adventure Park) and Forum Algarve (Shopping Centre) were also awarded.
