FARO JUDO Club of the Algarve’s Leandra Freitas (48kg) and Ana Cachola (63kg) took silver and bronze medals respectively at the European U-23 Judo Championships in Zagreb.
Also successful on the international stage last weekend was Faro cross country runner Ana Dias, whose first place in Amora virtually guarantees her European Championships participation in Brussels on December 14, and Algarvean European U-18 badminton No1 Pedro Martins, who made a winning start to the Scottish Open in Glasgow. Next weekend Portimao’s Alexandre Agostinho forms part of the Portuguese team hoping to make a big splash at the European short course swimming championships in Croatia.
