Algarve wines paired with delicious food in new event

Over 20 restaurants are taking part

The Algarve Wine Commission (CVA) is organising a new event entitled ‘Algarve Between Dishes and Wine’ (Algarve Entre Pratos e Vinhos).

Having kicked off on October 23 and running until November 30, the event sees over 20 restaurants in the Algarve boroughs of Albufeira, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Portimão, Silves and Tavira serving dishes paired with regional wines.

The goal is to offer residents and tourists an opportunity to savour the region’s delectable dishes and wines at special prices. The menus always include a dish or snack paired with one or more locally produced Algarve wines, and can be changed every two weeks, depending on each restaurant.

With this new event, the CVA aims to “promote the consumption of Algarve wines during the off-season, improve the skills of restaurant staff, and invigorate the Algarve during a period of lower tourist influx.”

Said Sara Silva, President of CVA: “Algarve Between Dishes and Wine will be more than just an event; it will be the well-deserved celebration of the perfect marriage between the unique and distinct character of Algarve wines and the diversity and richness of the region’s cuisine.”

The event will also give clients a chance to win prizes by sharing photos of their menus on social media, with prizes including a wine course at the Eviva Wine School and vouchers for wine tourism visits to regional winemakers.
