Algarve wine harvest increases by 20%, despite drought conditions!

Good news for Algarve wine aficionados. The long summer drought has not affected this year’s harvests one little bit. Indeed, they have increased by no less than 20%. And the good news doesn’t stop there. According to the Algarve winegrowers commission, 2018 could see even better results. The intense summer heat in June, the commission explains, came at exactly the right time for grapes’ maturity. Rain could have spelt disaster.

If summers like the last one persist, the outlook for the region’s wine producers can only get better.
