In its ongoing mission to attract tourists to the Algarve this summer, the regional tourism board (RTA) has recently welcomed three national travel bloggers who will help promote the region as a safe holiday destination.
As part of the tour, the ‘influencers’ visited Alcoutim, Olhão, Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and São Brás de Alportel to discover some of the Algarve’s hidden gems, “often forgotten, albeit unfairly”.
Bloggers Catarina Leonardo (Wandering Life), Maria António Lopes (LikedPlaces) and Lígia Gomes (A Crush On) have already started sharing on their social media pages videos and photographs of their experiences in the Algarve.
Algarve tourism chief João Fernandes says the RTA is “determined to reduce the impact the pandemic is having on the sector.
“We want to strengthen the idea that the Algarve remains the same destination (as before Covid-19), with much to offer its visitors, but even safer and better prepared than ever to welcome those who choose to spend their summer holiday here,” he said.
Just last week, the tourism board unveiled another campaign to woo summer tourists featuring influencer couple Raquel and Miguel, known on Instagram as ‘Explorerssaurus’ and who have over 753,000 followers (click here).
