Algarve tourism offices receive a facelift

Tourist information offices across the Algarve are being renovated to improve visitor satisfaction, according to the president of the region’s tourism board (ERTA), who says that the amount invested so far has reached 400,000 euros.

António Pina said the Algarve’s tourism posts in Tavira, Vila do Bispo, Quarteira, Montegordo and Lagos are next on the list to be renovated into a uniform design that will be recognised by visitors.

For some councils, this work will be funded by the ERTA, while for Montegordo and Quarteira, the Câmaras will receive funds to carry out the work.

Last month, Carvoeiro’s tourist information office was inaugurated, following an investment of 85,000 euros.

“This is the fourth most visited tourist office in the region, which is an important reason for the work,” said António Pina at the inauguration.

“The most visited office is that of Faro, followed by Tavira and Albufeira.”
