The Algarve’s tourism board (RTA) has celebrated the “remarkable” increase of British guests at the region’s hotels in October.
Data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) shows that the number of Brits staying at regional hotels topped 136,000, a 7.1% year-on-year increase. Faro Airport also registered a 6.5% in the number of British passengers.
Algarve tourism boss João Fernandes says these statistics leave him feeling optimistic about the future of the region’s main tourism ‘supplier’.
