For the first time in the Algarve, Europe’s most successful travel brands are set to be acknowledged at the World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony on October 6, at the newly opened Conrad Algarve in Almancil.
The leading travel decision-makers from across Europe are scheduled to attend the black-tie gala evening, which is being held in partnership with Conrad Algarve and Turismo do Algarve, and will include a gourmet dinner, top entertainment, as well as the presentation of the prestigious awards.
Categories such as ‘Europe’s Leading City Break Destination’ and ‘Europe’s Leading New Hotel’, plus many more, will see contenders rewarded for excellence in the tourism industry and the global travel sector.
Graham E. Cooke, President and Founder of the WTA, said: “Europe’s travel and tourism economy has demonstrated remarkable resilience, given the macro-economic challenges across the continent. Our nominees represent those organisations that have made the greatest contribution to the performance in the face of adversity.”
He added: “We are delighted to host our first ceremony in the Algarve, a decision which reflects the vital role of tourism in the region and its overall contribution to the Portuguese economy. Our Europe Ceremony will provide a perfect forum to showcase its facilities to travel’s top decision-makers.”
