Algarve to boost tourism promotion in UK following ‘Brexit’

The Algarve’s tourism board (RTA) has announced plans to increase the region’s promotion efforts in the UK following the seismic outcome of Britain’s EU referendum.

Following a meeting with several other regional and national entities, RTA decided that the Algarve has to “strengthen its relationship with the British” and also work harder to attract other foreign markets as well.

The entities also agreed to come up with a series of measures to help the Algarve deal with the possible impact of the Brexit.

According to RTA, the UK is Portugal’s main touristic market. The Algarve is the location where 70% of the Brits who spend a night in Portugal choose to stay.
