A collective photographic exhibition entitled ‘Algarve Through the Lens’ will be opening tomorrow (Saturday) at Corte Real Gallery near Paderne.
The exhibition, a partnership between Algarve GoodLife Magazine and Corte Real Gallery, will showcase the winning photographs in the Algarve Through the Lens competition running since April in the monthly publication.
As well as the winning photographs, there will also be an opportunity to view a selection of other Algarve moments captured by the winners, who are both professional and amateur photographers.
They are Tony Woods (British), Clive Goodacre (British), Petra Terveer (German) and Brigitta Folmer (Dutch).
Inês Lopes, Editor of The Resident Group, publishers of Algarve GoodLife Magazine and the Algarve Resident newspaper, among other publications, said: “We decided to run a photographic competition in the magazine because the Algarve is one of the most sought after regions by photographers.
“Here they have an array of landscapes and wildlife to photograph: the coastline, the still unspoilt countryside, historical centres and the beautiful faces of the Algarve people.”
As the response to the competition was so successful, Algarve GoodLife Magazine will be relaunching the Algarve Through the Lens competition in January 2011.
Inês Lopes said: “We have a fantastic prize to give away that will enable entrants to further their photographic skills – but you’ll have to pick up a copy of the January edition to find out more!”
The exhibition at Corte Real, which is open from Thursday to Sunday, from 11am to 5pm, will run until November 13.
