Algarve takes part in France’s top tourism fair

In a bid to ensure that the number of French holidaymakers visiting the Algarve continues to grow, the region’s tourism association (ATA) is taking part in the Top Resa tourism fair in Paris, France, which started on Tuesday (September 20) and ends tomorrow (Friday).

The association has skipped the event in recent years but is taking part again due to the “very significant increase” of French tourists to the Algarve.

“France is the market that has grown the most in our region,” ATA president Dora Coelho said.

“In 2015, we registered a 17.7% increase compared to the previous year,” she added.

The positive results have continued this year, with a 32% increase in the first half of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015.

Hopes are that if the Algarve continues to promote itself in France, visitor numbers will keep growing.

In March, ATA also took part in Paris’ Salon Mondial du Tourisme fair.
