Algarve surfer Yolanda Hopkins chases national title

After her win at the Allianz Figueira Pro last weekend, Algarve surfer Yoland Hopkins jumped to the top of the national ‘Liga MEO’ championship.

The 21-year-old was born in Faro and has been surfing since she was eight years old.

Now living in the Sines area, Yopkins competes for the Clube Naval de Portimão and has become one of the favourites to win this year’s national championship.

She also competes in international competitions and achieved “some excellent results last season”, the Clube Naval de Portimão says in a press release.
